Alkaline Copper Plating Solution is used as a base plate for
plating onto pewter, Britannia metal or lead and its alloys. It can also be used for
plating and initial coat of copper prior to silver plating when renovating
EPNS. It is also essential for electroplating zinc and is useful in the
plating or steel and other ferrous metals.

This Edwardian flask, made of Britannia metal, and goblet (with a tin-lead
stem) was first undercoated using alkaline copper then silver plated. The
flask was in particularly poor condition but came up beautifully after
plating. |
