MPU is an abrasive rubbing compound. It incorporates nano-sized particles and it leaves a completely scratch-free surface. It has a variety of different uses:

Most metal polishes leave a very fine residue that helps protect the metal surface. If you are intending to lacquer after plating, this residue can adversely affect the coating. As MPU can be rinsed leaving no residue, it serves as an excellent polish prior to lacquer.
